Flipkart is all set to collaborate with some of the best electronic and apparel brands with its new offering that allows big brands to create exclusive stores on the digital market place.
Flipkart is ready to create a self-service analytics platform called ‘Brand Hub’ where companies can target specific customer pools based on their products and services. These stores have already got a place in the Flipkart mobile app this April and a desktop launch is expected soon. These stores help top brands target customers and drive sales by using data and analysis provided by Flipkart, as the Bengaluru-based company accelerates the process of driving revenue and trimming expenses to retain its leadership in the fiercely competitive online retail market.
Surojit Chatterjee, Senior Vice President and Head Consumer Experience & Growth at Flipkart says that the response has been encouraging and that the initiative already has found customers in the form of HP, Samsung, Wildcraft, Puma, Peter England, Bosch, Vu Technologies and @Home.
“It’s a way for brands to reach out in a very personalised manner while customers can discover their favorite brands, including new launches.”
The brands that always had grudges with online retailing companies over the discounting scheme now are finally happy that they have got the power to control over how and what they showcase to customers using data.
“It is a good platform for brands to create a page which is coherent with their philosophy, giving us a canvas which is different from the cataloging format,” so says Devita Saraf, founder of television maker Vu Technologies.
As it is clear, the main aim of this initiative is earning more revenues. So far they are not charging but Flipkart targets gross profitability by September of this year. ‘Brand Stores’ has also promised to help Flipkart align its advertising strategy more closely with its approach to sellers and top brands selling on the platform.
Flipkart aims to use its huge customer behavior data for targeting sales and build a closer relationship with customers. Stay tuned to The Hacker Street for more news trendy articles.
