Wannabe Entrepreneurs, Get Excited!

Growing up has always been tough. And why tough? Not because life gets tougher and we are endowed with more and more responsibilities, it’s because we are left on our own to face the brutalities of the world. We no more have anyone to hold our hand and guide through the way. As an entrepreneur, you pledge to do something new, something innovative as well as creative.

Things get different as we grow up, as we evolve. We evolve from being a kid to an adult and most importantly from a learner to an earner. As easy it is to grow up, it is difficult to evolve. Seriously. I meet some people and go like “OMG, so that’s how our ape-cestors looked like!”. Just kidding 😛

So coming to the point, what does it take to evolve into an entrepreneur? Any guesses? Idea. Courage. Hard work. Determination. Ehh, well nope!

Boom! Shattered your notions of qualities of an entrepreneur? The answer lies in the question in itself. Whatever has been mentioned before are the qualities of an entrepreneur; and we are talking about what it takes to evolve into an entrepreneur from a guy with an idea. All that an entrepreneur needs to evolve are sugar, spice and everything nice! No, we are not kidding this time. An entrepreneur needs to be sweet enough to be diplomatic at times to get the job done, spicy enough to get the ball rolling and everything needs to be nice about his start-up.

Like stated earlier, as a grown up adult we no more have people to guide us everywhere or to hold our hand. So where do we go for help or suggestions? The very obvious thing that we do but will hardly say right now –GoogleWho can live without Google? It is indeed Google who helps us with the right information and let’s just not get into suggestions. Google definitely outdoes anyone in giving suggestions. It practically never lets me finish my search item.

The same Google has some awesome videos for budding entrepreneurs:

6. APJ Abdul Kalam :”A Leader Should Know How to Manage Failure”

Things are not always rosy everywhere. We all know failures are a part of life. I would take the privilege of contradicting myself.

Failures. How do you define failure? A situation that suggests that you have been unable to turn things your way. Wrong.

Going down doesn’t make you a failure but staying down does.

Learning to pick up oneself and starting the journey all over again with worn out tools. That’s the spirit of entrepreneurship.

If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build’em up with worn-out tools;

In the words of APJ Abdul Kalam- a leader should know how to manage failure.
